Emily is the Director of Genesis Dance Academy. Her passion drives the Academy and her goal is to consistently offer a high quality of extra-curricular dance classes for children aged Prep to Year 12 in Ballet, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Tap and Jazz.
Stefanie has been dancing her way across the stage from the young age of four. She has studied Ballet, Contemporary, Tap and Jazz for the past twenty years and has completed a three-year Bachelor of Musical Theatre degree. Stefanie has since taught Ballet, Contemporary, Tap and Jazz at a private dance school for four years in Brisbane. She has completed a Diploma of Education and for the last two years has taught dance at Pimlico State High School. She is excited to continue imparting her knowledge of dance and sharing her passion with her students.
Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary
Miss Jessica West has many years of performance experience in all genres. Jessica studied classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and tap, and completed her RAD Ballet Exams to Advanced Level 1. After training in a full time classical ballet school, she is currently in her second year studying at Conroys Performing Arts School. She has taught ballet, jazz and tap previously on the Sunshine Coast and we are very excited to welcome her to our Genesis Dance family.
Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary
Miss Sian trained full time and completed her Certificate IV with Raw Performing Arts, and has worked professionally as a dancer and performer. Sian performs with Mega Jam Crew and has taught Hip Hop for a number of studios around Brisbane.
Sue studied Dance extensively from an early age at the Conroy Dance Centre and the Queensland Ballet School. She has also performed professionally – both nationally and internationally – in the Commercial and Contemporary dance genres. Highlights include roles in the Australian Ballet production of “Manon” and performing for the Ben Love Dance Theatre and Henry Daniels Laban Movement, both in London. Along with holding an Associate Diploma in Dance QUT, Sue also holds a Certificate IV in Assessment for Vocational Education, CSTD Teaching Diplomas (Ballet, Jazz, Theatrical and Tap) and is a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. Sue’s career has also seen her run her own dance school successfully for many years.
CSTD Ballet, Jazz
Miss Karen brings many years of experience to Genesis Dance Academy, having run her own successful dance studio in the past. She is a fully qualified CSTD teacher. Miss Karen teaches our Jazz levels 1-5 on Mondays as well as Tiny Stars, Primary Jazz and Grade 4 Ballet on Wednesdays. Miss Karen is very passionate about nurturing and developing our young dancers and our younger students love her classes!
RAD Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary
Miss Kate is an experienced RAD Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary teacher, who is currently studying her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance & Drama) at QUT. Miss Kate also has many years of performance experience and trained for a professional classical career. She auditioned as part of the choreographic team for the Commonwealth Games and is looking forward to sharing her love of ballet with our RAD Grades 1-5 Ballet classes.
Hip Hop, Contemporary
Miss Brooke trained in all genres of dance since the age of 4yrs old, completing her RAD Ballet and CSTD Jazz exams to a high level, and has many years of performance experience. Miss Brooke successfully auditioned to be a dancer in the House of Sole Hip Hop Crew, placing 5th at Nationals. Most recently, Miss Brooke has followed her passion for Contemporary and Choreography to the National Dance Architect competition, where she was awarded a scholarship to attend Paul Malek’s workshops in 2018. She has also accepted the position of assistant choreographer for the Genesis Christian College Musical this year, and will be teaching our Levels 1-5 Contemporary and Senior Hip Hop classes.Miss Sian trained full time and completed her Certificate IV with Raw Performing Arts, and has worked professionally as a dancer and performer. Sian performs with Mega Jam Crew and has taught Hip Hop for a number of studios around Brisbane.
